Basically a fake antivirus program got on my grandmas computer, wont let her exit it or delete it off, is making bad icons like spam0001 and porn. Wont let her use the browser unless it redirects it to a porn site. Can I fix her computer without restarting it completly, and if I do have to how do I. Please be specific to make this easier thank you.

Sounds like she didn't have any antivirus on her computer. You can try downloading/installing Microsoft Security Essentials, or purchase something like Kaspersky (don't...DO NOT get Norton or McAfee - they're a waste of money) to see if that can clean out the little buggers. But...chances are that enough damage has already been done. You'll want to back up all of her data (and before restoring, scan for viruses), and then do a clean install of Win7. Once that's done, at least install Microsoft Security Essentials - it's free and it's a pretty decent antivirus suite. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf MacBook Pro 15" (Intel i5 2.40GHz), Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate , Photoshop CS5

hii, Yeah these kind of rogue programs once if enters ur system then they force u to buy them and for that they performs such kinda malicious activities.so u need some gud antispyware to get rid of it.Download some gud antispyware from cnet and then install it on ur grandma's system if not able to install then start the computer in the safe mode and install.now run the scan and clean all the infections found.if u wish i can suggest u 1 antispyware "Advanced System Protector ",ASP it gives routine updates of the latest definitions and makes the browsing safe and is very easy to use.The On Execution Scanner & Alert Shields make it more efficient in the case of internet access. For me the Advanced System Protector is the Best Antispyware...U can also give a try. free version of ASP is also available at cnet
