I would like to know if there is any one can tell me how to correct my problem, I have Windows 2000, no install CD for it, on a Dell Latitude cpx Laptop, in which, it will go as far as to enter in the Password, and leaves me with a black screen, with out the task bar, or icons, and CD will not boot up from the Linux disk, can some one help me to correct the following problem(s); BTW, is there any place where i can download Windows 2000 NT, for free ? (1) for some reason, the white bar that the task bar rides on has moved up 2 inchs, and ever thing on top of the screen repetes below it, also, 2 inchs on the right of the screen is none viewable, making my screen size smaller.... I can live with this probllem, if needed to, in need to correct number 3 problem first... like to know how to correct this problem (2) I am have problems with my ["8" "i" "k" and "," ] keys, some times they work, and most of the time they dont.... I can live with this probllem, if needed to, in need to correct number 3 problem first... like to know how to correct this problem (3) someone has attempted to correct number 1 problem, and, do not know what he changed, and now, Windows will not boot up, the only way that I can get in to the computer, is by going in to the safty mode (f8) can you please tell me how to set, the setting, so that Windows will boot up, I cannot restore to the old settings... any ideas, contact me please: david_harner@rock.com ---------------------------------------------- dh

It actually sounds like the laptop, or at least the hard disk, is failing. If it won't even boot up from a Linux CD, then it actually sounds like a hardware issue. Laptops have a lifespan of normally 3 to 5 years, so you may want to consider replacing it. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200
