| I have an HP 530 laptop running WinXP SP2. My sound when playing music was fine until I attempted to install a Mikumi webcam that also has a mic. Thereafter the sound skips or misses in some areas. I cannot skype as the skips and misses just mess up conversation. I uninstalled the Mikomi software but there was no improvement. I removed and reinstalled the sound drivers but there was no change. I ran ESET antivirus (with the latest updates) but there was no virus picked up. I do not have any hardware conclicts under device manager. What could be the problem? (It may be possible that this problem may have nothing to do with the webcam - i hadnt used my laptop sound for about 3 days though i was using the laptop so something else may have triggered the problem....) I use Windows Media Player 11 and have not modified or changed my sound cards. Under Device Manager, I have the following listed under "Sound, Video & Game Controllers": - Audio Codecs - Conexant High Definition Audio Venice 5045 - Legacy Audio Drivers - Legacy video capture devices - Media Control Devices - Video Codecs Any help that i can get will be greatly appreciated. | There are a couple of options: 1. Check for updated drivers for both the webcam and your sound card (check HP's website). 2. If there aren't any updated drivers, consider uninstalling the webcam and returning it. Get one from a reputable manufacturer (Creative Labs, Microsoft, etc.).
