You had high speed Internet for a year now using one computer plugged directly to the modem. Now you would like to add a second computer. Instead of this computer sitting in your den, you decide you want this computer on another floor. Conventional thinking says you have 3 options: run cables by phishing through finished wall board and ceilings, run cables on your floor across hallways and stair cases, or go wireless. What most people don't realize is you can also go with powerline. Powerline does not replace wireless entirely. If you have an ipod, mp3 player, iphone, or any other hand held device, more than likely you are going to want the freedom of wireless. You do not want your ipod plugged into a wall outlet to stream music from your computer's hard drive while you are cutting the grass. However, devices like your xbox, desktop, and most laptops can go powerline instead of wireless. Check out this video: http://www.cnet.com/4520-7390_1-6274537-3.html?tag=tab
