Any one out there please help me, I am trying to connect my xbox 360 to the internet through my laptop with a telstra wireless modem. I even talked to a guy on xbox help and support line but he was no help and i could not understand him. I have plugged the ethernet cable supplied with the xbox into the xbox and the computer. plugged in my modem and turned it on and am connected to the internet. i then go to test xbox live and the IP address test failed. I then phoned xbox help line and he instructed me to get the physical address of the computer and input that in to the edit settings page of the xbox. Still nothing is working. I have gone through my computer networking settings and read most of the help topics related to networking. If anyone has had the same difficulty or knows how to fix my problem please please help me. I am dying to get my xbox online. Thanks alot guys/girls Mark Farrell

Hey, This is my problem as well. In my house, we only have one active phone port to which a NETGEAR DG834V2 and a Phone is connected (been working perfectly for over a year). The 360 used to be downstairs so I could just connect it straight to the ethernet switch on the Router. 2 Laptops and 1 desktop are connected wirelessly to the router. It has recently been moved upstairs and the problem is, I know the DG834 doesn't support the protocol used to add wireless access points to a network and I can't afford to shell out £54 at GAME for a 360 Wireless adapter (Does Windows Connect Now allow you to use any supported USB wireless network adapter with the 360?). I want to be able to use a crossover ethernet cable to connect the 360 to my HP TC4200 w/ Gigabit ethernet adapter and allow it to use my Laptops Wi-Fi internet connection to connect to the internet. I've been through all the tutorials for this pointless ICS rubbish and gotten nowhere, does anyone have any suggestions? So all in all, I've had the same problems and done the same things as Mark Farrel but similarly, to no avail. Thanks in advance, Lee
