Hello Everyone.
I've seen a few other posts regarding this subject, in numerous forums - I've tried the instructions that others have suggested but my problem is still unsolved.
My "Audio and Volume Properties" in Control Panel states that I currently have No Audio Device, - I'm borrowing this computer from another person - but as far as I know, no new soundcard has ever been installed in the past - it's always been the one that came with the computer. I'm not great at this sortof thing - but I'd really like it if I could get my sound back!
I think the most likely cause was a computer crash - apparently that can cause problems with onboard sound...anyways. I'll post my computer specs, and any help is greatly appreciated.
Audio is enable in the Services, and the speaker are connected..so...I don't know what to do.

This has been answered under prior posts. The easiest way to have WinXP detect and find drivers for your soundcard is to do the following (note: SP2 must be installed for this to work):
1. Under Device Manager, right click on the sound card and choose uninstall.
2. Close all windows and reboot
3. When WinXP reboots, it will find the new hardware and ask if you want it to search the internet for the driver, or check on the local drive. Allow WinXP to search the internet.
I (and other IT people) have almost 100% success with this method.

First, are you running SP2? Also, can you provide any details on your computer? i.e. if it is one from a mfgr (Dell, Gateway, HP, etc) knowing the make and model will help.
