Perhaps knowing what model printer it is might help. Also, it sounds like this is in a client/server network. Is the printer hooked up to a print server or to a client and shared? ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100

My wife's computer has the same printer hooked up to it. Are you using the built-in driver in WinXP for it, or Epson's software for it? ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100

Is this the first time you've hooked up the printer, or did it work before? What you might try: Turn off the printer and uninstall all versions of the software (both Epson and the WinXP version, if they're in the Add/Remove Programs). Reboot with the WinXP CD in, and run Recovery Console Once completed and you're back into WinXP, turn on the printer and see if WinXP can install and run the native drivers. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100

Contact Microsoft to see if they can get you a replacement. The other option would be to upgrade to Vista. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100
