I am getting the blue screen of death when I try to startup my windows 2000 machine. It saying it has an inaccessible_boot_device. This happened after one of my start ups acted wierd not showing any icons and I shut off the computer then turned it on. One suggestion is to run chkdsk /f but I can't load into safe mode without getting this screen when it trys to load.

It sounds like a worm or virus. You can try to run Repair (put in the Win2000 CD and reboot and go into the Win2000 setup. What antivirus and spyware are you running? ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100

Not only does it look for spyware/adware, but it looks for viruses and Microcrap vunerabilities. You may not be able to use it's full features, but at least it'll give you a starting point. Take what it says to Google and look anything up it can't repair/replace, such as Microsoft. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
