40gb C: is my master, 80gb D: is my slave. Had some problems with good old XP after i put in a new motherboard, used the repair tool on the setup CD but it kept hanging half way through. I didn't have much space on C: and didn't want to put a 2nd installation on there so i put the system files onto my D:. Problem is, i need to take one of them out sometime soon to take to the usa with me. I was thinking of putting everything onto my 80gb and taking my 40gb one but obviously my boot.ini file is on c: so i was wondering if its possible to merge them together without it causing too many problems. I did have one idea, but wanted to run it past a few other people before i tried it. My current boot.ini file is: [boot loader] timeout=3 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect My idea was to swap D: to the master, and editing the boot.ini file to: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(0).... Would that work without any problems? If anyone has any more ideas that would be cool too! [emote|:)] Thanks
