i have windows media center on a PC but does anyone know if its possible to copy it to another computer thats running windows XP home , ive copyd it to XP home computer but when i open it it sais it only runs on a windows media center computer

No - you can't copy it from one to another. This would require a clean install or upgrade, and the Windows Media Center OS is designed for the PC that it's installed on. You'd have to obtain another OEM copy to try and install it on another computer. FWIW, if your computer can handle Vista Home Premium, then you can install that on it instead.
