You've been duped. Uninstall it and then download Spybot AND Adaware. Both are good, wellknown freeware programs that will deal with spyware/malware. These should hopefully take care of any problems you have. The warning you get is a pop-up that Registry Mechanic is allowing to come up. If this works, your pennance is to listen to 8 hours of Barry Manilow... ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100

www.download.com - Download.com is part of CNET - bookmark both as trusted sites. I could have made a worse choice - Twisted Sister. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100

There's a good freeware program call Hijack This! that you can also get at Download.com. What this does is give you manual control over what runs at startup. Best suggestion is to start conservatively (those programs that you don't know), and run either Adaware or Spybot to search the little buggers out. Download.com will also have info on how to use it. It'll be a long process, but it's a way to try and root out the little buggers. You might also want to look at some of the "all in one" combination AV/Spyware/Firewall suites such as Windows OneCare, or others (I'd personally recommend staying away from Symantec's offerings - too much of a resource pig, and they haven't been all that reliable lately. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100
