Some NICs like Intel Pro/100's allow you to change it under the Driver Properties in Device Manager, but this is not something you should do for "fun". MAC address's are unique and duplicate MACs on a network will cause headaches like you wouldn't believe.

Its possible in Windows 2000 as well but is dependent on the driver for your particular network adapter.
