Since you can't disable it via the BIOS, the onboard and your new soundcard are fighting for an IRQ. Only option is to stick with the onboard sound (or get a new mobo/computer with a separate soundcard) ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D2Hs and D100

Best bet is to check for a BIOS update that will allow you to disable the onboard soundcard. Otherwise, the conflict between the two will continue. A registry hack would not correct the issue as the IRQ conflict is happening at the POST startup. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D2Hs and D100
