wrong. msconfig is only for troubleshooting, leaving it in selective startup can cause serious problems, which is why windows xp uses different registry keys for msconfig.

Uncheck the stuff u dont want in msconfig startup tab, then go to start > run > regedit.exe

Delete these keys if they exist:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices-

HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run-
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices-

Notice the minus (-)

The best way to find out where something loads, is do a normal startup, then go to start > run > msinfo32, click software environment, click startup items. Find the items you want to remove and note where they start from.
