Much depends on how much memory you have in your computer. The specs I found indicate that this is an Intel Celeron processor (kinda like a four-cylinder engine in a Ford F350 - guttless), with 64mb of memory upgradable to a max of 256. The MINIMUM amount of memory that WinXP needs is 64, and it's best to have at least 128, preferably 256. Your machine (with added memory) may be able to handle WinXP, but you'd probably be better served getting a new machine. Personal recommendation would be to avoid Compaq (they're an IT person's worst nightmare). Dell and Gateway (including the retail versions of Gateway's computers) are good choices. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS, Nikon D2Hs and D100
