I just received Win XP Pro from a2zcom.com described here:
http://www.a2zcomp.com/specs.asp?SKU=458565

When I got it I found that it is an OEM version clearly labeled "for sale only with a new PC". Not what I expected or wanted. I expected the XP upgrade in a box. I have not opened it.

Is this legal, since I obviously did not buy a PC from them?

I went to that site, it just says as an upgrade. You can buy oem windows xp copies only if they sell you some hardware, for instance if they sell you a printer theycould sell you an oem copy. If they didnt do this, it is illegal. At the very least they should let you return it since the site doesnt say oem. One thing to remember is oem copies have no support from microsoft, so for the $10 savings your not getting any support from ms, just return it and buy a upgrade version. You might want to report them.
