You have to use sysprep. Then clone the drive. MS has a couple of step by step guides on their websites on how to do this. Look under windows 2000 and then deployment.

No with Windows 2000 you have to use sysprep. If you are backing up you just want to ghost your machine to a usable state right? I guess you could ghost it but you aren't going to be able to boot from it.
