try start > run > type: sfc, then click on start, if it finds any mismatched files restore them.
maybe try upgrading your IE since it will update some shell files. or try reextractin desktop.htt, which should be in every folder that customizes each folder. You could use sfc to extract a new copy of this. also could be a virus, make sure you've recently scanned for viruses, you can do this for free at housecall.antivirus.com does this happen in safe mode? To find out hold down control as pc boots up, and choose safe mode. Just do a find for iemigrate.dll and migrate.dll, if you find them delete or rename them, then reinstall win98se.
If that doesn't work and your brave, you can blow out all the migration files but this is kinda risky. Just run setup with this switch: setup /ND I suspect renaming the ie migration files and reinstalling will fix it. gosh |
