Anyone played with the DX9 beta assemblies in .NET? Man, they are bad ass!!! Holy crap, I cannot wait until DX9 is released with a full SDK and docs and samples n'stuff. Hopefully this will spawn a whole slew of .NET/C# games. I was speaking with a guy who managed part of the MDX9 project and he said that their goal was something like the 80th percentile performance with DirectX 9 COM interfaces and they achieved 95th precentile performance!!! All the naysayers were wrong, games CAN be written in .NET as long as you are aware of heap allocation and object lifecycles rather than just letting the GC do everything. ---------------------------------------------- "We're planning on adding an icon for that..." [emote|:s]
