Unveils New Resource for Senior Citizens

1,500 Computer Training Centers For Older Adults What: Listing of 1,500
computer training centers for older adults around the country
Why: To further promote
computer literacy among older adults, Microsoft Corp. today unveiled
the Senior Training Resource Guide as a tool for seniors and their
families to find training programs for older adults in their
communities.
This comprehensive catalog includes 1,500 centers
nationwide that offer introductory computer classes and/or special
seniors programs by various government agencies and nonprofit
organizations such as the U.S. Department of Labor, community
colleges, community centers and SeniorNet. Microsoft compiled the
resource in response to over 1,000 requests made by care-giving
families, friends and community groups seeking a quick and easy way to
find local computer training programs geared specifically toward older
adults.
The new Senior Training Resource Guide is an
extension of the Microsoft® Senior Initiative, which aims
to bridge the digital and generational divides by providing older
adults with access to technology.
